Dr. James Carrigy

James grew up in North Brisbane and has always had a passion for biological sciences and people-oriented jobs. He graduated in South East Queensland's Griffith University Dental School where he obtained his general dental degrees: a Bachelor of Oral Health in Dental Science and a Graduate Diploma of Dentistry; receiving the Griffith Award for Academic Excellence.
When James started working as a dentist in Brisbane, he developed a keen interest in the field of periodontics. I.e., periodontal disease, dental implants, regeneration, grafting, and the relationship between good dental health and life long general health. He later returned to his Alma mater to complete a Doctor of Clinical Dentistry in Periodotology, becoming a registered dental specialist.
James is a member of the Australian Dental Association (ADA), Australian Society of Periodontology (ASP), the Australian and New Zealand Academy of Periodontists (ANZAP), the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons in the stream of Periodontics (RACDS), and the International Team for Implantology (ITI). James's research in the field of dental implants has been published in international peer reviewed journals. He also maintains an active membership in local dental study clubs throughout Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast and regularly attends international congresses keep up with the cutting edge of Periodontics and Dental Implants.
In his free time James enjoys spending time with his wife, friends and family. He is an avid reader, photographer, "foodie", traveller, hiker and skiier.
